People will learn from YOU how you expect to be treated. And you SHOULD EXPECT kindness, you SHOULD EXPECT respect, you SHOULD INVEST in yourself. You deserve that. Be an example of how to treat YOU well. Be good to yourself
This is the time of the year, post holidays, pre-spring attire, when weight becomes a focus for so many of us. All of my life I struggled with my weight. Everything changed when I accepted that I was more than just my weight. Unexpectedly, once the weight wasn’t my focus, I actually did lose a lot of excess weight. It felt great as an addition to other (more important) positive changes in my life.
You too are more than your weight. You are beautiful, OF COURSE you are! YOU KNOW YOU ARE!
New Life Perspective: Confidence Jacket
You can feel confident even if you’re not feeling confident. Kind of like “fake it until you make it”. Except you’re not really faking it; come to this from the perspective of “embodying it” until YOU ARE it .
My inner voices don’t shut up, and they used to keep me from doing things I wanted to do. Not any more! Here’s one way that I stop them from interfering in my life. I put on a super motivating tune and then... well, then I just have to not get distracted with the urge to dance! 😂 But blasting out a good tune definitely makes me feel confident and eager to get on with the goal at hand.
Make this year’s New Year’s resolution about what you already do and about who you already are. Because the best thing that you can do is acknowledge the good things in you.
A New Year’s Challenge from me: Every day, list 3 things that YOU LIKE ABOUT YOU. Make this a habit, and see how WONDERFULLY this affects your NEW Life Perspective.
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound? Probably. If you made a difference in the world, but you don’t recognise your contribution, did the world still change? CERTAINLY. In this holiday season, coming to the end of the year, this is a good time to remind you that YOU ARE ESSENTIAL in this world, and the world is a better place because you are here. I wish for you all to recognise the beauty and wonder that you bring to this world!
I’ve worked in many places, some I enjoyed, some I didn’t. None were a “dream job”, none of them were places “I loved to go to”. All were filled with challenging tasks and challenging people and challenging lessons that enabled me to gain skills and have the courage to start my own business. And here I am telling you, that you will definitely thank yourself later for persevering and doing things despite a lack of motivation.
While preparing this clip about “rebooting frustrations” I had to reboot my frustrations from getting distracted by noise, losing my train of thought while speaking and even coughing just as I reached the end. So, I rebooted and restarted. I thought of a moment of bliss from many years ago, when I was barefoot in St James’s Park reading a book and worrying about nothing – I called it a “Nothing Day”. After that I made sure to mark a few “Nothing Days” in my calendar to relive my moment of bliss
New Life Perspective: Create the Silence
We can create silence by concentrating on a calming, neutral sound, let it take more and more space in your mind, until a bubble of silence surrounds us. Neutral sounds can be anything like soft waves on the beach, rustling of leaves in the wind or even white noise.
Take a deep breath and hear the leaves as they create a silence around you.
Don’t let any figure of authority intimidate you. There are many experts of many fields, but you are THE expert of YOU and YOUR LIFE. How do you present yourself when you know you are an expert? What is your posture like when you know that you are a figure of authority? …Embrace your role as the expert, the ultimate expert of all that is YOU and enjoy your new life perspective.
When you’re able to see your perfect potential, you can carry yourself as if you are already perfect (after all, knowing WHAT you’re aiming for, brings you half way there!)
Life is full of stresses all around and all of the time, but you can use your past experience to help bring calmness inside. Relive the calm times and enjoy your New Life Perspective.
New Life Perspective: Light Up Your Darkness
We’ve all been through times of darkness and we all managed to find our way out – we are here after all. Knowing how we did it, will quicken our journey to a better “more lit” place. Here’s one way to light our way out of the darkness.
New Life Perspective: Un-stick Uncomfortable Moments
Try a new way to “un-stick” an uncomfortable moment from the past, so that you can pave the way for a better future. “Un-stick” your past and enjoy your new life perspective.
New Life Perspective: Confident Memories
Be inspired by YOUR OWN moments of confidence. Allow yourself to experience your present from the perspective of your confident past.
Forgiveness isn’t about what we say to someone when we forgive them, but about how GENUINELY WE LET GO of the burden that we’ve been carrying for so long.
Notice at all of the things around you – the comfy sofa, the television that works, the hot water that runs in the shower, and the duvet that keeps you warm at night. Pause a moment, appreciate all these good things around you and smile. You are worthy of the good things around you, and that is certainly worthy of a smile.
New Life Perspective: A meeting with your future self
Succeed for you, because as you'll see from a glimpse of your future-self, success will suit you
New Life Perspective: Write your own screenplay. Write down your advice, play it out and thank yourself for paving your way to success.
