What do you remember?
At the end of the day, what do you remember? Which stories do you choose to tell? Which memories do you cement and carry forward to tomorrow?
Do you finish the day replaying conversations that you wish you had ended with better mic-drop responses? Are you overcome with frustration that you still haven’t completed your ever-growing to-do list? Or maybe you remember a great idea that solved a problem that never grew big, because you solved it when it was only small?
Do you finish the day complaining about how your body has betrayed you with aches and pains and unexpected weakness? Or do you finish the day appreciating the parts of your body that are still working, still carrying you from one day to the next, still strong enough to make you feel strong within yourself?
Do you finish the day making a list of the people who betrayed you? Do you make a point to note what people should have done for you but didn’t? Or do allow your last thoughts of the day be about the laughs and joys you share with people that care for you? Do you invite random acts of kindness to stay imprinted in your brain as a reminder that you are worthy of kindness from random folk?
What you remember at the end of the day will set the rhythm of how you finish a day – choose to remember something good and mark the chapter “today” as a good day. What you remember will set you up for the following day, the following week and the rest of your life – choose to create a story filled with good, heart-warming and empowering memories.
