More than 3D – part 2of3
In the first of the this 3-part series I discussed how we move beyond the 3D space of forward/back, up/down, and in/out. We move through time (4D) when we trigger our memories and we imagine our future. We can occupy 2 places or times at the same time (5D) by playing out scenarios in the present whilst considering their effect on our future self, or playing out scenarios in the past and considering how they would have affected our present. Our 5D experience also comes to life when we are physically in one place, while in our mind we enact a very different present like singing to our toothbrush to an imaginary sold-out venue of cheering fans.
In this article we’ll be branching out to explore a universal existence. Both the 6th and the 7th dimensions refer to parallel universes. In the 6th dimension there is a limitation of the same beginning, e.g. all universes are a result of the Big Bang, nothing existed before and nothing began in any other way other than the initial Big Bang. The 7th dimension rids itself of that limitation and any universe could start at any time
6D refers to parallel universes that had the same beginnings – There is a beautiful scene in Men in Black 3, where the character Griffin shows Agent K and Agent J how he can transport them into a different time and he explains to them how the smallest alterations led to different realities that exist simultaneously “Oh, it’s always October and November and March. So many futures and they’re all real, just don’t know which one will coalesce. Until then, they’re all happening, like this one.” This is the dimension I refer to as “what if”. We have many what-if parallels playing in our head constantly: what if I didn’t miss that train, what if I dressed differently for that job interview, what if I had gone to that party, what if I played the lottery, what if I said this, what if I didn’t say that? We don’t know, but we imagine. And it’s not just about us – there are plenty of hypothetical historical what-if’s: what if Franz Ferdinand cancelled his trip to Sarajevo in 1914? What if Michelangelo was forced to become a banker as previous generations of his family were? What if Eve never ate that apple? There’s a point where anything could happen and, once we make a choice, one of the “anything’s” does happen. These choices have a much broader effect than just their consequences on our personal lives.
7D parallel universes that have a different beginning – Mathematically, this is where I find things become a bit mind-boggling, but in our reality, actually not so much. What of the infinite stories and their variations that have been written and have yet to be written? What of infinite songs and tunes that all start differently with different musical sounds, rhythms and instruments? What of infinite worlds of art - sketches, paintings, sculptures – all differing in style, in language, in message, and in interpretation? What of different cultures and religions that have different ideas about the true beginning of the world? What of dreams that have no intelligible language, sequence of events, or forms of existence? And what of non-human species that inspire humans to defy the rules of nature by flying or diving or imitating their language and song? In NLP we have many techniques that break the rules of natural thinking – we translate linguistic thought to an abstract dimension of shapes, movement, colours and textures. We manipulate the abstract by focusing on changing the direction of movement or colour of the abstract image. There was no clear beginning, there is no clear timing, and it isn’t even clear which realm we’re accessing when we take these actions, and yet we find ourselves making positive changes in our “lived-in” dimensional world.
In the 3rd and final part of this dimensional series I’ll be looking at our abstract existence, touching a little on a spiritual existence.
