Forgiveness Paves the Way for Action
It doesn’t matter if someone said sorry, it doesn’t matter if they didn’t mean it when they said sorry, forgiveness isn’t about them, it’s about you. Forgiveness isn’t about you bowing down to them, but rather standing tall and paving your way towards a positive outcome; a positive outcome that you have to work towards. Forgiveness is about you paving your way to take action that will help you grow.
It doesn’t matter that you are mad at yourself, it doesn’t matter that you are disappointed with the choices you made in the past, forgiveness isn’t about who you were, it’s about who you are becoming. Forgiveness isn’t about making excuses for things you’ve done that you now regret, but rather about acknowledging that there are better decisions you can now make that will lead to a better future. Forgiveness is about recognising better outcomes and a wider range of options to reach those outcomes. Forgiveness is about being fully involved as you pave your way to take action that will help you grow.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t follow a structured religion, it doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in a higher power at all, it’s not about the judgement of a Divine entity, it’s about how you live your life here on earth. Forgiveness isn’t about what spiritual leaders might think, but about what will give you peace as you lead your own life. Forgiveness releases you from the burden of other people’s (or your own past) wrongdoing. Forgiveness is about putting the burdens aside so that they do not block your way as you move forward.
Forgiveness is exhaling the breath that you’ve held onto in fear that letting it go may hinder you. Forgiveness is about clearing the way for fresh air, forgiveness is about reigniting your life with a fresh look, a fresh start, and fresh motivation to move forward to a place, not in need of your forgiveness, but of your inspiring presence.
Forgive and pave your way to a wonderful place.
